In collaboration with the Musée national Picasso and the Fondation Giacometti, Qatar Museums will present the first exhibition dedicated to the work of two of the most important artists of the twentieth century, Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) and Alberto Giacometti (1901-1966), at the Fire Station - Artist in Residence in Doha.. The exhibition, which is the first to show these artists in the Middle East, will run from 23 February to 21 May 2017.

This major exhibition, curated by Catherine Grenier, Director of the Fondation Giacometti, with Associate Curators, Serena Bucalo-Mussely and Virginie Perdrisot, brings together more than 120 works by these two artists drawn from the collections of the Musée national Picasso and the Fondation Giacometti in Paris, as well as exceptional loans from French and other international collections, covering paintings, sculptures, sketches, photographs and interviews with the artists.

1. Case Study

Qatar Museum a décider de réhabilité le lieu de la Fire Station aux standards internationnaux afin d'acceullir des expositions d'envergure.

Dans ce cadre il a confié à Abraxas, la prescription du matériel et des infrastructures d'éclairage sur les bases de mise en lumière de l'exposition Picasso Giacometti.

L'enjeu, outre la mise en lumière de l'exposition, consistait donc à réfléchir à une versatilité des solutions mise en oeuvre pour les besoins futurs du lieu.

2. TECHNICALS

Le positionnement des structures d'éclairage a été étudié avec soin afin de s'adapter aux contraintes du lieu. Des sources led dali SPX de temperature de couleur différentes ont été choisies afin de pouvoir répondre aux besoins de qualité de lumière de l'exposition. Le pilotage des sources est assuré par des serveurs Helvar

Khalifa al-Obaidly, director of Qatar Museums’ (QM) Fire Station Artist in Residence Programme, echoed the director’s statement saying the blockbuster show is exceptional, and by bringing such internationally significant artists to Qatar, “QM hopes to spark creativity for a young and creative generation, and help build an exciting future for Qatar and enrich the lives of all those who live in and visit our country.”....GULF TIMES
